This class incorporates the 6 basic principles of movement created by Joseph Pilates with a strong focus on proper body alignment, movement execution and breath. Movements presented in class include traditional mat Pilates exercises in multiple body positions including prone, supine, side lying, kneeling, seated and standing. Modifications are demonstrated and encouraged. Pilates exercise increases muscle strength and length, improves posture, core strength and overall well-being.
