Kitchen Club Equipment Policy
Kitchen equipment purchased by the Stone Creek Community Kitchen Club and stored in locked cabinet/closet is available for use by other Stone Creek groups (clubs, neighborhoods, interest groups). Groups wishing to use the equipment must have a current Certified Event Food Coordinator to access the equipment. The equipment can be used at any facility in Reflection Bay (pavilion, courts, pool, etc.). However, equipment is not available to check out for personal/group use at home or any other locations.
Professional caterers should not be given access to club equipment. EFC can give them access to the kitchen but must remain in the kitchen with them. A caterer is welcome to use the commercial appliances for cooking, warming, or cleanup, but should bring their own cooking and serving equipment. Any group utilizing the services of a professional caterer is responsible for cleanup of any area used if the caterer did not do an adequate job.
Kitchen Club Mission Statement
The purpose of the Stone Creek Community Kitchen Club is to work with the Homeowners’ Association management team to ensure the Stone Creek kitchen amenity remains a useful and accessible amenity for every resident, club, or group. As stewards of the kitchen, the club shall provide the necessary oversight to:
- Ensure a healthy, safe, and clean environment for food preparation
- Provide a properly equipped and organized kitchen facility
- Conduct classes or workshops to acquaint interested residents with the proper guidelines for using the kitchen, as well as other learning and food preparation opportunities, including Event Food Coordination Certification for approved kitchen users
- Hold club activities and community events that contribute to fun and enjoyment to enhance the lifestyle at Stone Creek
- Participate in select community outreach endeavors
Kitchen History
Pulte provided the commercial appliances but no equipment or utensils for preparing or cooking food. Early kitchen users had to bring equipment from home. The SCCK Club was chartered in 2011 with the goal of fully equipping the kitchen and keeping the kitchen organized and in good working order. Prior to that time, the club founders had worked with the HOA management as a Kitchen Committee to develop guidelines for kitchen use and prepare a list of suggested equipment. The first equipment was purchased with $200 provided by Pulte and donations from several clubs and individual residents. With the need for more funds evident, the club began to hold diners with bingo as entertainment. Since that time the club has put more than $60,000 into the kitchen and buffet from the proceeds of the dinner and Bingo events.
