Theater Club

Description
Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers, typically actors or actresses, to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage.

Stone Creek Community Theater Club is a group of Stone Creek residents who band together several times a year to present plays or talent shows in the Reunion Center Ballroom. While many of our members had prior stage experience before moving to Stone Creek, we welcome all residents, with or without theatrical experience, to join us. Besides acting, there are many other ways in which you can get involved. Indeed, the number of our members working behind the scenes is always much greater than the number of cast members you see on the stage. From producers and directors to set design and construction, to lighting and sound, to costumes and makeup, to stage management and stage crew, to box office and house management, there are plenty of jobs to go around. If you are interested in learning more about what these various jobs entail, you can submit questions at sctheaterclub@gmail.com or attend one of our monthly membership meetings.

The Theater Club meets in the Reunion Center on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:30 am. Guests are always welcome to come and learn more about us. Member dues are $15 per year.

If you would like to receive email announcements from the Theater Club, such as audition notices, please send an email to sctheaterclub@gmail.com with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line. You can also direct any questions to this email address.

Ripcord Closes a Huge Success – 12 Angry Jurors Up Next!

On July 14th, SCCT completed the weekend run of Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abair. The show was a great success
with total attendance slightly exceeding 600, including our 205 season ticket holders. This is a record for a show
during the summer, when the snowbirds are away. Thanks to all the Stone Creek residents who turned out for the
show. Special thanks to those who posted reviews of the show on the Stone Creek residents’ Facebook page.

On Tuesday evening, July 23rd, Dave Kinney held auditions for our next production, 12 Angry Jurors,
adapted from the television drama Twelve Angry Men written by Reginald Rose. We had a great turnout for the
auditions, which was vital, as the show has a large cast. Here are the SCCT members who will be in the cast:

Judge – Barbara Kaplan
Bailiff – Dan Liotta
Jury Foreman – Cindy Kinney
Juror 2 – Wayne Werner
Juror 3 – Wes Jones
Juror 4 – John McCormick
Juror 5 – Kristin Brewer
Juror 6 – Candy Arnesan
Juror 7 – Mark Labadia
Juror 8 – Mary Mattson
Juror 9 – Nancy Luellan
Juror 10 – Linda Chizmar
Juror 11 – Goldy Simon
Juror 12 – Ginny Jackson

The show dates for Twelve Angry Jurors are October 11th, 12th and 13th. Tickets will go on sale in mid-September.

aaaaBecome a Stone Creek Community Theater PATRON

Stone Creek Community Theater would like to thank all of our Patrons, whose donations over the past several months helped us build our
capital expense fund to the point where we could help fund the lighting upgrade in the Ballroom. Further lighting upgrades are still needed,
so we invite any interested residents to enroll in our Patron Program and help us raise the money needed for Phase 2 of the lighting project.
SCCT volunteers will be in the Reunion Center lobby between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on every Thursday in January 2024,
selling 2024 season tickets and enrolling Patrons for 2024. If you already have a Patron enrollment form, you
can turn it in together with your donation at that time. If you prefer, you can also return your Patron enrollment form together with a check
made out to SCCT to our Treasurer: Linda Chizmar, 7696 SW 94th Circle in the Arlington neighborhood.

For details about the Patron Program tiers, please see the Patron Program document linked at the bottom of this page.
There is also a link to the Patron Enrollment Form.
